*Entertaining Angels Unawares

a subtle shift

as a stranger walks in

his crossing the threshold

takes you across a doorway too

an angel big as Michael is behind him

taps his shoulder, says ‘you’re it’

you are at a playground
spirits are playing tag

 all day long

*long after writing this poem I remembered Hebrews 13:2 from years ago...

'do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers,

for thereby some have entertained angels unawares'
